DreamWorks will release the Steven Spielberg directed War of the Worlds (starring Tom Cruise & Dakota Fanning) in separate single-disc and 2-disc Limited Edition versions on November 22nd. Details are still very shady, but we do know that the film will be presented in a 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, along with both English Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 audio tracks. The only extra found on the single-disc release will be a “Designing the Enemy: Tripods and Aliens” featurette. The 2-disc version will inc…ude an introduction by Spielberg, a four-part production diary documentary, four behind-the-scenes featurettes (”The HG Wells Legacy,” “Characters: The Family Unit of War of the Worlds,” “Pre-Visualization” & “Scoring War of the Worlds”), the aforementioned “Designing the Enemy: Tripods and Aliens” featurette. design & production photo galleries, the trailer, and closing words by Steven Spielberg.
