Warner Home Video has announced two upcoming releases of Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner. A restored and remastered version of the 1992 Director’s Cut will debut in September 2006 (for a special four-month limited release). Late in 2007, Warner will unveil Blade Runner: The Final Cut (25th Anniversary Edition) - which will present Scott’s definitive new version of this classic Sci-Fi film. This multi-disc “definitive” edition will include three alternate versions of Blade Runner: the Original U.S. Theatrical Cut, the Expan…ed International Theatrical Cut and the 1992 Director’s Cut. Numerious extras will be presented, but have yet to be offically announced. Stay tuned for more…

A version on release for four months that will then be inluded in the definitve version? Who’s gonna buy that?

I, for one, am going to buy that and the other. I love Blade Runner, but the current DVD is probably the worst quality DVD in my collection. Just to be able to watch it in great quality while I wait for the Super Special Edition to be released will be a godsend. It’s Blade Runner for heaven sake! This was the best DVD news I’ve heard in over a year.
