Studio support is slowing growing for the HD-DVD format, with a couple of smaller studios releasing their first HD-DVD titles in the coming months. HBO will release the first TV on HD-DVD on November 7th with The Sopranos: Season 6, Part 1. Also jumping into the HD-DVD game is The Weinstein Company, with Clerks II hitting the streets in December (date TBA).

Some of the early HD-DVD backers are continuing to push the format. On October 24th, Universal will release 12 Monk…ys, The Interpreter, Out of Sight, Spartacus, The Thing & Slither. Then, on October 30th, Paramount will release the HD-DVD of Mission Impossible 3. Lastly, Universal will release The Hulk, Waterworld, and the highly anticipated King Kong (2005) on Novemebr 14th.
