Tuesday Round Up

While this week might represent one small step for man, it’s also one giant leap for this here website. Not only will we soon be reviewing Universal’s Neil Armstrong drama First Man (4K), but we are days away from unveiling an exciting new redesign for this very site! (Be sure to check back in and tell us what you think.) Elsewhere, Fox shows us some love with The Hate U Give (4K), Lionsgate navigates politics and family with The Oath, and Shout! Factory swindles some laughs out of us with con man comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

FYI: we are wrapping up our 12 Days of Christmas giveaways at the end of this week, so be sure to head to our contest page and enter for a chance to win. One last reminder before signing off for the week: if you’re shopping for anything on Amazon and you do it through one of our links, it’ll help keep the lights on here at UpcomingDiscs. See ya next week!

Please allow me to kick things off with a belated, "Happy 2019, everybody!" In the first Tuesday Round Up of the new year, Michael Myers comes home …again! Universal made a killing last fall with its Halloween reboot, and we’ll soon be reviewing the horror hit in 4K. Elsewhere, Lionsgate puts the pedal to the metal with Speed Kills and tries to find the light in After Darkness, while Omnibus Entertainment contends with the Oddsockeaters. Finally, Fox is in for some Bad Times at the El Royale (4K) and swings by Quahog for Family Guy Greatest Hits.

But wait…there’s a bit more! Later this week, we will be reviewing the first would-be blockbuster of 2019: M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass. It might be a new year now, but you're going to get the same weekly reminder before we sign off for the week: if you’re shopping for anything on Amazon and you do it through one of our links, it’ll help keep the lights on here at UpcomingDiscs. See ya next week!

It’s been almost 15 years since the legendary Gene Hackman was last seen on screen. (His last film was 2004’s Welcome to Mooseport, which is bad…but not bad enough to quit movies altogether!) While the on-screen drought for Hackman continues, the Oscar-winning actor can at least be heard in one of this week’s Round Up offerings. Shout! Factory takes us through the journey of joining We, The Marines (4K), which is narrated by Hackman. Elsewhere, CBS heads west for Yellowstone: Season 1 and trusts its Instinct: Season 1. Finally, Lionsgate goes on a violent spree with Deadman Standing, while Comedy Central gets into business with Nathan For You.

One last reminder before signing off for the week: if you’re shopping for anything on Amazon — a Christmas present for a loved one, perhaps — and you do it through one of our links, it’ll help keep the lights on here at UpcomingDiscs. See ya next week!

The mission for this week’s Round Up, which we quickly chose to accept, was to let you know about some of the new releases we'll soon be reviewing on this very website. Thanks to Paramount, that list includes the latest Tom Cruise spy adventure Mission: Impossible — Fallout (4K), which will be helicoptering (and HALO jumping…and motorcycle riding…) its way onto these pages before long. Elsewhere, Warner Bros. finds some spooky religion with The Nun and returns to the world’s most dangerous theme park with Westworld: Season 2 (4K). Finally, RLJE Films snags tickets for The Ride.

While this is the start of a new month, you're going to get the same ol' reminder: if you’re shopping for anything on Amazon — maybe a Christmas present for a loved one — and you do it through one of our links, it’ll help keep the lights on here at UpcomingDiscs. See ya next week!

This week’s Round Up is boldly going where we haven’t gone before to review the newest addition to the Stark Trek canon. Thanks to CBS, we’ll be transporting to Star Trek: Discovery — Season 1, the streaming series that will soon feature a very familiar face. CBS also follows the clues to Elementary: Season 6.  Meanwhile, Warner Bros. takes a UHD bite out of shark adventure The Meg (4K), Time Life goes back to school with Saved by the Bell: The Complete Series, and Disney keeps things brief (and emotional) with Pixar Short Films Collection: Volume 3.

There’s also magic in the air on the big screen thanks to Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, while a group of Widows look to settle some debts. One last reminder before signing off for the week: if you’re shopping for anything on Amazon and you do it through one of our links, it’ll help keep the lights on here at UpcomingDiscs. See ya next week!

This week’s Round Up can best be summed up with one word: incredible. Disney has released its superpowered smash hit Incredibles 2 on Blu-ray, so keep an eye on the site for our review a little later this week. The Mouse House also returns to the Hundred Acre Wood to re-connect with Christopher Robin. Elsewhere, CBS fights The Good Fight: Season 2 and revisits a pair of TV hits from the past by casting a spell with Charmed: Season 1 and getting resourceful with MacGyver: Season 1. RLJE Films travels Beyond the Sky and pours its Blood, Sweat and Terrors into an action-packed anthology. Finally, Shout! Studios shares a few of its favorite things with a 60th anniversary edition of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music Live to commemorate the Broadway classic.

On the big screen, Fox Searchlight asks Can You Ever Forgive Me, while Universal gets green and mean with Dr. Seuss’s The Grinch. And now it's time for your customary reminder: if you’re shopping for anything on Amazon and you do it through one of our links, it’ll help keep the lights on here at UpcomingDiscs. See ya next week!

Here we go again, indeed! It’s time for another Tuesday Round Up, and Universal takes it all with Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again (4K), the sequel to the blockbuster ABBA musical. Meanwhile, Shout! Factory heads out west for Valley Girl and goes Hollywood with Get Shorty. Finally, Lionsgate plunders Black Sails: The Complete Series and slithers into the hood with Snake Outta Compton.

Keep checking back each day for our "31 Nights of Terror" and enter to win a free prize in our many contests. Also, if you’re shopping for anything on Amazon and you do it through one of our links, it’ll help keep the lights on here at UpcomingDiscs. See ya next week!

This week’s Round Up can be summed up in one word: Groovy. Lionsgate takes up arms (and chainsaw) for an epic battle in Ash vs. Evil Dead: The Complete Series, while also seeking retribution in Reprisal. Elsewhere, RLJE faces the dry heat of Arizona (4K), Indican Pictures doesn’t feel much with Painless, and Showtime stays unfaithful with The Affair: Season 4. Finally, Shout! Factory saddles up to revisit the Billy Crystal comedy favorite City Slickers: Collector's Edition.

Meanwhile on the big screen, Fox Searchlight is locked and loaded for The Old Man and The Gun, Roadside Attractions takes The Oath, and Michael Myers comes home (again) in Halloween. Keep checking back each day for our "31 Nights of Terror" and enter to win a free prize in our many contests. We are reaching unprecedented heights with this week's Round Up! Thanks to Universal, we'll be scaling the tallest building in the world alongside Dwayne Johnson in Skyscraper (4K). Elsewhere, Warner Bros. counts to The 100: Season 5, and heads west with occult investigator John Constantine in Constantine: City of Demons — The Movie (4K). HBO hits its mark with hitman comedy Barry: Season 1, while Fox prepares for battle with Vikings: Season 5, Volume 1. Fries Entertainment Group gets animated with Starchaser: The Legend of Orin, Monarch stays for a 3rd Night, and Shout! Factory goes back to school for Saved by the Bell: The Complete Series. (We'll have full coverage of the fan-favorite teen comedy next month, following the conclusion of “31 Nights of Terror.”)

Speaking of the spooky season, we'll also be reviewing Columbia's Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween on the big screen a little later this week. Finally, we are taking one small step to offer our take on Universal's First Man. Before you run off until next week, here's your customary reminder: if you’re shopping for anything on Amazon and you do it through one of our links, it’ll help keep the lights on here at UpcomingDiscs. See ya next week!

It's here! The calendar has officially turned to October, which means it's time to dim the lights, dial up the frights, and celebrate 31 Nights of Terror. We'll be highlighting a different horror-themed offering every day this month, including The Originals: The Fifth and Final Season from Warner Bros. RLJE Films is wide awake for Sleep No More and lives in wedded bliss with The Housewife. (Be sure to check out our interview with Housewife star David Sakurai.) Random Media returns to The Landing to unearth a past trauma, while Paramount steps behind the plate for WWII drama The Catcher Was a Spy. Finally, Fox dials up 911: Season 1.

There's also a pair of big-time, big screen releases we'll be reviewing a little later this week: Bradley Cooper directs (and sings along with) Lady Gaga in A Star is Born, while Tom Hardy suits up for Sony's Venom. And now it's time for your customary reminder: if you’re shopping for anything on Amazon and you do it through one of our links, it’ll help keep the lights on here at UpcomingDiscs.
