I first encountered Bob Hope’s star on the walk of fame not long after he had passed away. Upon seeing it, I crouched down, reached out and touched it. At that moment, a few foreign tourists snapped a few photos of me, taking me away from what was a deep experience. I guess it’s worth it to be unwittingly shown off in scrapbooks somewhere near Tokyo.

Bob Hope was an asset to the military personel in his day…I remeber watching his specials growing up and even as a kid thought he was funny. One of those celebs you actually miss when they pass on. I don’t tend to cry when celebs die but I did when he passed. He has a place in my heart always. Thanks, Bob!!!

Bob Hope was a really cool guy, and he was a unique soul. Only his kind come around once in a lifetime. It is a rarity for comedians these days to have the exact talent that Mr. Hope had. Some of my fondest memories are of me and my grandfather sitting up late to watch old Bob Hope movies on TV. He sparked my love for classic movies by exposing me to those great old “road movies”. This would be a wonderful collection to own.
