You know, one would think I know nothing about dvds, except the fact I’m looking at 400 of them in my new revolvey case thing. Anyhow, in this edition of the New Release Tuesday blog, we get a good look into this weeks top releases. A good smattering of releases this week, particually in the TV department. Well,on to the lists…
Top Film Releases
Some good schlock this week to get…you through another tough one. Apocalypse Now: The Complete Dossier, The great classic gets a snazzy cover and includes both versions of this interesting film. I’ll ALways Know What You Did Last Summer is the third installment in this little appreciated slasher trilogy. We also get Ann Sheridan and Ronald Reagan in King’s Row , and then two of the more profitable movies from the end of spring in RV and Scary Movie 4 Here are the few titles that I thought were worth making mention of this week…

Top TV on DVD Releases
Tons of great TV show releases this week, so many I had to actually cut a couple to make this top 5 (ones I missed include Sealab 2021 S4 and Magilla Gorilla: Complete Series). Big interest (and umm…)goes of course to The Girls Next Door Season 1, an interesting (for the content) Playboy reality-esque series. Also of note is The Brak Show – Volume 2 and more Simpsons in the form of Simpsons: Season 8 (this time its Maggie’s head!). However one of my favorite cartoon series is out this week: Hong Kong Phooey: The Complete Series and as well my man Weird Al in Weird Al Show: The Complete Series Pick both of them up, btw Weird Al is releasing a new album in September, can’t wait!

Top HD-DVD/Blu-Ray Releases
Man, what a way to support a new format, look at all of the titles, whew! Seriously not much this week, and only for Blu-Ray fans. Take a look at this week.

How could you forget the STRONGEST release this week in HBO’s ‘Rome’?!??!?!?!

When you get a fill-in columnist, expect his own biases to come forth. I barely know of the show Rome to be frankly honest 🙂 (and besides TV was overloaded this week so it was hard picking just five, so sue me already)
