Well, nothing too much on the horizon, presumably because it’s getting close to Christmas, so what else can really be announced, right? In other news related to disc releases, following up on the Oliver Stone …ilm World Trade Center, the HD and Blu-Ray titles will include commentaries, stills galleries and deleted scenes, to name a few. Street date remains 12/12. Disney/Buena Vista will release Pearl Harbor and Invincible as BD-50 titles on 11/21. Oh, and Jet Li’s Fearless comes to HD-DVD on 12/19.
As far as hardware news goes that’s not related to consoles, Toshiba will be introducing a promo starting on Wednesday where one can buy a player between 11/1 and 2/28/07 and get their choice of three titles for free, from a list that includes We Were Soldiers, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Apollo 13, Constantine and Casablanca, to name a few.
Everything seems to be on a standstill this week, however today, Mission: Impossible III comes out on Blu-Ray and HD-DVD (it’s worth checking out, along with our review of the HD title, hint hint), while tomorrow gives people a chance to enjoy Under Siege on both formats. Blu-Ray exclusive titles are The Phantom of the Opera, The Searchers and Unforgiven, while HD exclusives are Excalibur and V for Vendetta.
What can I say, it really is that boring this week. So until next time high definers, so set the brightness to low and the resolution to high!
