Gino Sassani

Gino Sassani is a member of the Southeastern Film Critic's Association (SEFCA) and The Critics Association of Central Florida (CACF). He is a film and television critic based in Tampa, Florida. He's also the Senior Editor here at Upcomingdiscs. Gino started reviewing films in the early 1990's as a segment of his local television show Focus. He's an award-winning recording artist for Omega Records. Gino is currently working on his 8th album Merchants & Mercenaries. Gino took over Upcomingdiscs Dec 1, 2008. He works out of a home theater he calls The Reel World. Favorite films: The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, The Body Snatcher (Val Lewton film with Karloff and Lugosi, not the pod people film), Unforgiven, Gladiator, The Lion King, Jaws, Son Of Frankenstein, The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, and Monsters, Inc.

    The last one? It’d been a while. I’d say Dawn of the Dead. Why? I dunno, just how the movie starts with a bang.

    I’m not really scared by movies. Kane from Poltergeist 2 was damn disturbing though. I think that he was dying from stomach cancer brought real pain into that role.

    I thought Dead Girl was pretty scary-Mostly because my little cousin was the of the actors in it and he gets killed-Its weird to see your family die do gruesomely

    hands down The Exorcist. why? I’m a Catholic girl…’nuff said! and how scared? let’s just say my hubby has it on DVD and i won’t even let my fingers touch it when perusing our video library…

    Yeah, to truly scare me in a movie is not easy, I think the last true scare was some 30 years ago, when I was around 12, The Exorcist, even the commercials gave me nightmares.

    The Exorcist! It was the first movie I’d ever seen in a theater and also the scariest EVER!
