Gino Sassani

Gino Sassani is a member of the Southeastern Film Critic's Association (SEFCA). He is a film and television critic based in Tampa, Florida. He's also the Senior Editor here at Upcomingdiscs. Gino started reviewing films in the early 1990's as a segment of his local television show Focus. He's an award-winning recording artist for Omega Records. Gino is currently working on his 8th album Merchants & Mercenaries. Gino took over Upcomingdiscs Dec 1, 2008. He works out of a home theater he calls The Reel World. Favorite films: The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, The Body Snatcher (Val Lewton film with Karloff and Lugosi, not the pod people film), Unforgiven, Gladiator, The Lion King, Jaws, Son Of Frankenstein, The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, and Monsters, Inc.

    My dad bought a pair of candlesticks at an auction at at old church that was being torn down. They turned out to be solid gold and appraised for over $20K-He paid $50.

    When I was young I bought a blue Snagletooth Star Wars figure at a garage sale. I had no idea it was so rare at the time.

    My pearl in a huge banquet hall after a convention, same pearl my dog zap off it’s chain when I ignored him, it took my husband to yell the drop it command. I have had this pearl for over 50 yrs.

    A silver dime between the base of a faucet and porcelain of a sink in an old building that was being refurbished. Looked like it had been there since the coin was new

    A teacup at a yard sale! It was made in England, was almost covered with gold and red roses. Just beautiful! I paid $10 for it & sold it later on eBay for $247. 🙂
