Peep Show is a 9 minute award winning short film. It’s about a private “peeping booth” for females. But the women don’t see anything sexual. The male performers say exactly what a woman wants to hear. Well…what we think they want to hear, “I want to commit, can I wash your hair, etc”. It’s an amusing sketch and just the right length. Since we’re told what the “joke” is fairly early on, and since there’s no surprise or twist, the film ends before things get stale. The performances are on target.
…p>Audio
This disc contains a pretty good Dolby Digital 2.0 audio track. There are some nice environmental effects in the peeping booth. At times, it sounds like you’re inside one. Music is also used occasionally for the rear speakers. The dialogue comes through fairly clearly.
Video
Overall, a nice 1.85:1 widescreen transfer. The reds inside the peeping booth look strong. Blacks are not as strong. At times, there’s a bit of graininess and roughness to the picture quality, but that could just be the stock it was filmed on. No specks or flecks. A fairly good presentation of this short film.
Special Features
Just a few trailers. Menu is plain Jane. Not scored.
Final Thoughts
Peep Show is a good joke that gets out at the right time. It’s not the most original joke, but it’s well told. If you like short films, you should slap this baby on. But if you’re also curious about what goes on in that “wacky” female mind of hers, you might want to take a peep at Peep Show.
