This film contains a very good Hip-Hop soundtrack. The base is substantial during the music sequences, and the surrounds are used effectively during these scenes as well. As just stated, the 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtrack was effective for the music, but did not do much in terms of the film. The surrounds were n…t used very much for effects, and the music sometimes overpowers the dialog.
Video
Considering that this film was made in 1996, this transfer looks awful. The coloration is poor, there is substantial print damage, the picture appears hazy, grainy, and washed out. Also, this film is only presented in a 1.33:1 full frame transfer.
Special Features
The only features included on this DVD presentation are three trailers – Higher Learning, Race to the Sun, and of coarse Sunset Park.
Closing Thoughts
This DVD does nothing for this film. The quality is quite poor, and the features are lacking. The soundtrack is good, but the overall appeal is lacking.
