I hope you will all join me as I welcome the newest member of the Upcomingdiscs family.

He's M.W. Phillips and he's already started to contribute to the site. I think you're going to enjoy the new voice.

I'd like to welcome our newest reviewer Bamboo to the Upcomingdiscs family.

He's a martial arts expert and I'm sure he's going to be an informative voice to the site.

Hey Gang,

I thought I would give you a heads up on our most recent contest winners:

Since starting UpcomingDiscs.com almost eight years ago, Rod and I have done our best to grow UpcomingDiscs into something that we are very proud of. In the last year or so, with many other ventures taking up our time, we have not giving UpcomingDiscs the time and effort that it deserves. Therefore, it is with mixed emotions that I announce that we have sold UpcomingDiscs.com.

While it was a hard decision to come to, we feel that we have sold the sites to someone who has the passion and drive to take these sites to the next level – Gino Sassani – who will take ownership of UpcomingDiscs.com effective immediately. We have complete faith in Gino and his ability to return UpcomingDiscs back to its glory days… and we ask that you stay along for the ride.

I'm happy to report that after a bunch of work the "Reviews" tab at the top has been significantly revamped. Its now, hopefully, a quicker, easier way to find a particular movie, or just browse our archives.

Click the "Reviews" tab to get started, and you'll a big page full of different categories - so that you can see a list of our Blu-ray reviews, for instance, or Horror reviews (just in time for Hallowe'en), or Adult Swim reviews for when you're feeling maturely humorous, or all reviews of films from Tartan Studios, when you're feeling Asian.

Hey hey hey - here's a new feature I stitched together - the Trailer Index!

Its a subsection of the site that collects trailers for reviews that we've posted, organized by Genre, playable right there, courtesy of YouTube. So - if you're into SciFi, Action, or Drama, click on over and check out some trailers.

If you've noticed, were struggling with various server and software issues here. Apologies in advance, and thanks for your patience.

I am a Trans-fan. I'm not ashamed to admit that I've seen Transformers three times in theaters so far, and intend to see it three more. Ok, the plot makes me cringe, the awkward character moments and expository dialog actually make me close my eyes - but the rest of the movie fulfills every boyhood super-destructive robo-fantasy in the most satisfying way possible.

That's why the NYT review of Transformers really bugs me. Reviewer Manohla Dargis apparently didn't pay close enough attention to get basic details straight, stating, for example, that:
