My name is Andrew and as a child at age 5, I suffered severe burns across most of my body which has left me with various lifelong disabilities. I have little running experience beyond some running up to 10k in University almost 15 years ago.
I plan to run the 34-mile Ultra Bach across the Swansea/Gower coastline this October - having never run a marathon or other longer race before. Major surgery in February 2024 has left me back at square one in my fitness.

Well … it’s October, the start of Horrorcane season, and for fright fans that means that all the ghouls and goblins will be coming out to play. Before long it will be All Hallow’s Eve, and many of you will be having a spooktacular time of it all.
Here at Upcomingdiscs, we’d like to help get you in the mood to boo. All month long we’ll be offering up our “31 Nights of Terror” to help unsettle those dreams just a bit. We’ve just been elected your Night Mayor, and now we’re going to officiate a mammoth month of monsters and mayhem. Nearly each and every night in October we will bring you at least one horror related post. These posts will include contests, articles, podcasts, and reviews (of course).

If you've visited this website at any point this century, you know the name Gino Sassani. Gino is the senior editor/fearless leader of Upcomingdiscs.com and an award-winning recording artist for Omega Records currently working on his 8th album. Please join us in congratulating him on his latest accolade: Gino was recently voted into the Southeastern Film Critics Association (SEFCA).
SEFCA members publish their work or live in Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. Gino began reviewing films in the early 1990s as a segment of his local television show, “Focus.” Working out of his home theater, which is affectionately known as “The Reel World,” Gino has written over 3,000(!) reviews since he joined the site in 2000. Gino has had the honor of chatting with a diverse group of industry giants — ranging from Joe Dante to Ice Cube — and has posted the interviews, along with dozens of others, as podcasts on the site.

Anyone who is a fan of horror or science fiction knows who Forry Ackerman was. He gave more to the industry than anyone else. He coined the term sci-fi and inspired the likes of Stephen King, John Landis, Steven Spielberg, and many others. He was the editor of Famous Monsters Of Filmland and held the largest collection of movie memorabilia anywhere in his famed Ackermuseum.
I've been lucky enough to have counted Uncle Forry as a friend since 1991, when I first visited the Ackermuseum. I've spent many hours and meals with him and miss him greatly.

You haven't heard much from Jeremy Butler for a while. That's because he spent a few weeks in Japan and didn't even bring me a pet Godzilla when he returned. What did he do upon his return? He got married... to two women. Actually he married Jessica, who has a young daughter Nalyce, and the three of them made it official today. I have it on good authority that Jessica has excellent taste in music as well as men. Please join me in welcoming Jessica and Nalyce to the Upcomingdiscs family. We wish them many years of memories and movies together. Congrats guys!

Paul's been with us for a while. Regular readers are familiar with his work because he's just reached his 200th review. He's absolutely the most off-the-wall writer here, but we love him because he makes the rest of us look sane. Hopefully, he'll be driving us crazy for another 200.

We've been thinking about changing our look. Over the years we've asked you guys what you wanted to see change. Most of you told us to leave things alone. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. We agree. We did decide to change our logo. Thanks to our reviewer Deb and her company The Write One Creative Services we finally have a logo of our own. For 6 years we've had Kate Beckinsale and The Enterprise watching over us. Don't worry. They're still at our Facebook page. We hope that you like it. Please feel free to leave your comments. Better yet, enter the Freedom contest and give us your feedback while entering to win a free DVD. At Upcomingdiscs: the best is yet to come.
