Synopsis
This is a chronicle of battles over Bill Clinton, climaxing with his impeachment. Based onothe book by Gene Lyons and Joe Conason, the movie, narrated by Morgan Freeman, takes theapproach that this ten-year-war was not something that just happened, but was the systematicattempt by an organized group to bring down the president. One’s sympathies in the matter willlargely determine how much, if any, of this one buys, but the film does make some convincinglydisturbing charges....

In the shadow of the Olympics’ return to Athens, PBS has decided to take a look back at the original games. This mildly-interesting program that feels more like a documentary that might be screened in a High School classroom than one you might watch on television in your free time. Such is the difference between PBS and the History Channel, I suppose. It is a good documentary, but certainly not great.

Synopsis
This is a four-part series that aired on PBS’s Frontline. Four hours long, it is ahistorical/archaeological look at Jesus’ life and that of his early followers. The series has time todelve into detail, and so the whole context of the era, political and otherwise, is presented. Ratherthan use cheesy recreations, the documentary shows us actual settings and interweaves these withinterviews with experts in the field.

Synopsis
The focus of this documentary is a small mountain village in Morocco, in an area known asthe Rif. Long a centre of hashish cultivation, the region has recently seen that industry take overeverything. We follow the lives of the villagers, and see the cultivation, preparation and selling ofthe drug. There is no narration, and the camera makes no overt judgment about what we areseeing, but the to-the-camera monologues by the villagers leave one with plenty to thinkabout.
