“And now for something totally different…”
I was fortunate enough to get the Fawlty Towers DVDs recently, but as the fates would have it, they were damaged by some careless mail handler. That means I won’t be able to give you a review on the set.
I can, however, guarantee you that it has to be a load of laughs. Cleese based the main character on a hotel manager the Monty Python Troupe had suffered some incredible experiences with over the years. Leave it to Cleese to whip up a big picture of sweet lemonade from the bitterest of lemons. While the show didn’t run very long at all, it left a remarkable impact on BBC television. There are still many fans with fond memories of the show’s antics. Now they can finally relive those memories with this release.
Did I mention something about something totally different? Cleese will be personally judging a John Cleese look-a-like contest. You have to hurry because it ends in just 5 days. You’ve looked at his mug for all of these years, now’s your chance to make John Cleese look at yours for a change.
