The Show
I cannot say enough about how great this series is. Not only is it extremely entertaining, but the DVD is of remarkable quality. If you have not had the pleasure to see an episode of The Sopranos, here is a synopsis of season three for you:

This could be why the FBI is going to such lengths to wiretap his home. Why is the son of his dear late friend Jackie Ap…ile is causing his such agita. How can you go wrong here… a television show presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. It is wonderful! The dialog is clear, the fronts are strong, and the surrounds are used to fill the soundstage. If only all T.V. could sound this good!
Video
HBO is where it is at in regards to T.V. on DVD! The Sopranos is presented in 1.66:1 Anamorphic Widescreen, and it looks great. The colors are sharp and natural, and the transfer is as clean as they come. If you want to watch the best looking television series on DVD, look no further then the Sopranos.
Special Features
This disc is not jam-packed with special features, but it does come with some decent extras. First up is a selection of episode specific audio commentaries. These commentaries are good, and help to give some insight into the making of each episode… we even get a commentary by Steve Buscemi, who directs episode 11.
Also included on this set are a short, and uninspired featurette that contains a few interviews, an overview of the nominations and awards that the series has won, as well as cast & crew bios. All of this is wrapped up with some very nicely animated menus.
Final Thoughts
As is the case with Season One and Season Two, The Sopranos: Season Three is great! The audio and video are the best you can expect television to look, and the features are adequate. This series is addictive… once you play one episode, each subsequent episode cannot come quick enough.
