So many people believe the “buddy cop” routine started with Lethal Weapon, or maybe Running Scared. Truth be told, Starsky and Hutch was quite a breakout from the cop shows of the time. The studio was picketed for the amount of violence portrayed, which by today’s standards wouldn’t raise an eyebrow.
This is typical 70’s from the film stock to the wardrobe. The unique Ford Grand Torino was so popular that Ford ended up manufacturing a limited number of the replicas. David Soul and Paul Michael Glaser had s...ch good chemistry that even Michael Eisner, then in charge of programs for ABC, told the producers he wanted to “hang out” with the duo. Unfortunately both did such a great job with their character they were never able to break out of the mold, and their acting careers suffered. Glaser has had recent success with producing other shows for TV. Soul had a short-lived music career, ending up a “one-hit-wonder” with his “Don’t Give Up On Us Baby”.

Warning: Do not be taken in by the cover of this DVD. With iron gates, murky lighting, and a creepy stone angel, Lush has the appearance of a gothic horror film. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Lush is one of those quirky crime dramas. You know the ones I mean…eccentric characters, a unique soundtrack, off kilter comedy scenes, and a murder plot. The Coen Brothers have made an art out of this kind of film. Lush tries really hard to make inroads into the genre.
The story ...akes place in the “Big Easy” and involves an ex-con (Campbell Scott), who likes to golf, and gets involved in a murder plot involving a repressed, depressed lawyer (Jared Harris). The story is told, at times, in flashbacks. Scott becomes embroiled, in crime noir style, in a “world of ****”. The solution to the puzzle, of course, is all a big con. Who’s conning whom….yadda yadda yadda. The problem with the story telling is that we’re never really quite sure what’s going on. There’s a lack of narrative clarity, which is really important in a crime film.

Stargate SG-1 suffered a little in its switch to the Sci-Fi Channel. The loss of Michael Shanks was very deeply felt. Jonas wasn’t really a bad character, but it took me a while to get used to him. The guest appearances of Daniel Jackson helped a bit with a couple of pretty good episodes. I felt there might have been too many Earthbound episodes in an obvious effort to curtail the budget. Through most of this season, Anderson had been talking about spending more time back in L.A. with his family. (The show is shot in...Canada.) We all know two more seasons would emerge. Still, this is one of the best science fiction series ever.

Synopsis
Stephen Burrows plays Milwaukee Steve plays a northern from Milwaukee who heads off to LA to seek fame and fortune under the bright lights. He lands his first job in a jock itch commercial and quickly becomes famous for this. Unable to land anymore work he decides what he needs to do is fake his own death and then make a miraculous return.

Synopsis
Denis Leary plays Doug Munford a wheeling dealing ego maniac skirt chaser who must get the women he has betrayed to forgive him so that he can inherit a million dollars. Elizabeth Hurley plays the lawyer who must accompany him done the road to redemption and cash to ensure that he doesn’t cheat. Along the way Doug finds out that he had a daughter with one of the women who is now dead and decides that maybe he needs to change his life. Ho hum can we throw a couple of more clichés in this one,...Dennis Leary is usually a funny guy but this film has even sucked the funny out of him.

For those of you who are into bands like Phish, Dave Matthews and The Grateful Dead you probably already know who this band is. For the rest of us The String Cheese Incident is made up of a group of fairly accomplished musicians from all different genres that are prone to playing very long songs. The songs tend to journey through all different styles from country to rock to jazz to blues and more. This disc features two different performances at the famous Fillmore in Denver.

Introduction
