Synopsis
Steven Seagal plays archeologist Robert Burns who has uneathered precious artifacts in ancient Chinese ruins. He discovers that the Chinese Mafia is using them to smuggle drugs overseas (??). He is framed for the murder of his assistant by the Chinese Mafia and then used for bait by the American/Chinese government to try and bring down the mafia. If the story line sounds like a Jackie Chan movie you are probably not far off as this is a made in Hong Kong action film.

Like the audio the 1.85:1 anamorphic transfer is of average quality. Colors are somewhat flat and washed out and blacks lack that deep dark black. There is noticeable film debris as well. The menus are not animated or scored.
Audio
This film features a 5.1 Dolby Digital audio track of average quality. Dialogue is sometimes difficult to understand. Bass is decent but is a little too full and does not dig down deep into the low gut wrenching realm. The image through the front channels is OK but not outstanding and the rears are under utilized. Also included is a French 5.1 track and Portuguese and Spanish stereo tracks. Not to be forgotten are English, French, Portuguese and Spanish subtitles.
Special Features
A grand total of three trailers for the following films; Out for a Kill, Double Vision and The Foreigner.
Final Thoughts
I grew up watching martial arts films and this is just a big disappointment. The acting is bad, the storyline is weak and the action is…..yawn…..boring.
