HBO's groundbreaking medical drama, The Knick is set at the turn of the 20th century. One of the highlights of the series has to be the graphic depiction of surgical techniques from 1901. From the splitting of the first co-joined twins to the second season finale where Dr. Thackery performs surgery on himself. Justin Raleigh leads the team that delivers on these extraordinary makeup effects. His methods have even led to the medical community calling on the team to create materials for actual doctors in training. He's also the man behind the effects on Viral which John reviewed for us Here. I had a chance to talk with Justin for a few minutes. Now you have a chance to hear about these groundbreaking creations. Bang it here to listen in on my chat with Justin Raleigh.

We've got to have the cleanest cars in the country here at Upcomingdiscs. That's because we keep going back to the All American Bikini Car Wash. I think we're starting to lose a little of the paint. This time we stopped by to talk to Jason Lockhart who plays Vex in the film. Vex is kind of the free spirit who likely wants to be spending more time with those bikini girls and cars. Actually, Jason is also a writer and director with some impressive credits of his own. It appears he had a great time working on All American Bikini Car Wash and I had the chance to talk to him about that. Bang it here to listen in on my chat with Jason Lockhart.

Summer is here and Upcomingdiscs has been cooling off at the All American Bikini Car Wash. We thought it would be a good idea to talk to the guy who came up with the whole thing. That would be writer Patrick Rodio. I had a chance to talk with Patrick about the film. It was a lot of fun and I got the story behind the story. Bang it here to sit in on my chat with Patrick Rodio.

She might very well be the hardest working actress I've ever had the pleasure of speaking to. One thing is for certain. Tanna Frederick has been a lucky charm for director/writer Henry Jaglom for several films now. I got a chance to see her in Ovation, which takes us back stage and inside show business. It's a natural place for Tanna, because she's got this love-affair thing going for the stage. It all game out in our friendly conversation. Bang it here to listen in on my chat with Tanna Frederick.

Quentin Tarantino might find himself in a controversy every now and then. But we're all waiting for the release of The Hateful Eight on Blu-ray this week. In the meantime I had a chance to talk to Dana Gourrier who plays Minnie Mink in the film. Minnie, of course owns everyone's favorite haberdashery. She was so kind and sweet I wish I had more time to chat with her, to be sure. Bang it here and you can listen in on my conversation with Dana Gourrier.

RLJ Entertainment shows us that the spaghetti western is not dead. Kill Or Be Killed takes the tradition and adds in a little horror to the mix. The film was written and directed by Justin Meeks and Duane Graves. Justin even plays one of the outlaws by the name of Sweet Tooth. I had the chance to talk to the two filmmakers and they had a lot to say about the genre and the film. Now you get to hear it all here. Painkillers is the new fantasy/thriller out from RLJ Entertainment. Colm Feore stars as Dr. Troutman who is running a top secret operation that involves special ops specialists in Afghanistan a new brain drug and a secret artifact. This one will play with your head and I got to get inside the head of star Colm Feore last week. We talked about the film and his take on the character. I remember him best from HBO's Gary Sinese film Truman. We talked a little about that film, as well. It was a great conversation, to be sure. Bang it here to listen in on my chat with Colm Feore.

RLJ Entertainment releases Some Kind Of Hate on November 3rd. Ronen Rubinstein plays a young man who has been bullied most of his life. When he's sent away to learn to control his anger he unwillingly awakens a sinister spirit who wants to share her bloody gift of revenge. I had the opportunity to talk to Ronen Rubinstein about both Some Kind Of Hate and his upcoming film Condemned. He's a young actor with plenty of enthusiasm.
