Intro
From its tissue-paper thin plot to the loss of the two main performers from the original Bad News Bears, what you see as you watch The Bad News Bears In Breaking Training, is the death of a franchise. Sure, there’s another haphazard follow-up, but the writing is on the wall.
Synopsis
This installment has The Bears traveling to Houston to play a single game against the Texas little league champs for the right to go to Japan. Why the Bears are chosen for this trip is never made c…ear. We never saw them win a championship so I can only presume that the team that should have gone came down with the mumps. Along the way to the game the team gets involved in various lame hijinks and eventually plays ball.
Audio
This DVD is presented in Dolby Digital 2.0. The most that can be said for the audio is it doesn’t have distortion or buzz like its predecessor does. Other than that, there is nothing spectacular about this DVD’s sound!
Video
This DVD features a Widescreen transfer that is enhanced for 16:9 televisions. The print hasn’t been cleaned up very well so there are a number of scratches throughout. These scratches are very distracting, and the colors are not very clean. In other words, this DVD looks bad.
Features
The disc includes English subtitles, scene selection, and basic menus. Nothing else is included. Why can’t they even include a commercial or trailer so the viewer wouldn’t feel like they are being completely ripped off?
Closing Thoughts
If you haven’t seen this movie before and want to be surprised by the ending don’t read the back of the DVD case. It gives away the entire plot including the ending!!! On the other hand, if you want to save yourself an hour and a half of your life, read the back. It has almost as much life as the actual movie and DVD presentation.
