Synopsis
Kari Wuhrer is an ambitious corporate lawyer constantly hitting the glass ceiling in a male-dominated world. Her affair with Stephen Baldwin leads to a $40-million theft, and doubt,deception and betrayal follow. Now, if Wuhrer really turned your crank in Eight Legged Freaks,then you might be interested in a film that has her naked as often as possible (and thus makingthe plot’s pseudo-feminism even more laughable). And, if you’re into trivia, one-time JamesBond George Lazen…y shows up here too. Otherwise, you’re much better off watching BasicInstinct again.
Audio
Good sound here, in terms of music, clarity and sound effects. The environmental sound isquite nicely achieved, though the mix is limited to 2.0. Still, the sound quality beats both the filmand the video.
Video
Though obviously direct-to-video, the film was apparently reformatted, so we have thecursed fullscreen ratio. The picture quality is fine, but not spectacular. It could be sharper, andthere is the very occasional speckle that shows up.
Special Features
Nothing but trailers for more dismal-looking “erotic thrillers”: Bare Witness, Diary of a SexAddict, and Sexual Predator. And is it just me, or are the Baldwin brothers in seriousdecline?
Closing Thoughts
The actors may be a notch or two above the usual Angie Everhart/Sannon Tweed vehicle, butthe product is still product is still product.
