Synopsis
Rosalie Boca is married to Joey, a pizza maker and womanizer. When she catches him with another woman she decides that he must go. With the help of her mother, the new age busboy and drug-addled cousins Harlan and Marlon, she attempts to send Joey on his way to the big pizza pie in the sky. Based on a true story truth really is stranger then fiction in this story of love and infidelity.
Video
Presented in both a 1.85:1 widescreen format and a 1.33:1 fullscreen v…rsion the image quality is average. Overall the image is soft and somewhat muted. There is lots of red in the movie and it just seems to lack some punch. There are some noticeable instances of edge enhancement but no visible film artifacts, although the contrast is good with nice detail in the shadows. So overall I have seen worse but, it could have been better. Menus are not animated but are scored and they can be a little difficult to navigate.
Audio
If the video is a little soft then the audio is lifeless. We have a very basic Dolby Surround mix that make that basically only uses the center channel. Voices are for the most part easy to understand but there are a couple of scenes that have level issues and you will find yourself looking for the remote to turn up the volume. The rear channels are never employed and neither is the subwoofer. The audio is pretty low key here but this is a dialogue driven comedy. This disc also features subtitles in English, French, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean and Thai.
Special Features
We have a total of three trailers for Manhattan Murder Mystery, Murder by Death and So I Married an Axe Murder. Other then that nothing to see here.
Final Thoughts
This is an average comedy in the same vein as My Big Fat Greek Wedding, so if you where a fan of that film you will enjoy this one.
