Synopsis
Eight more episodes of adventures with SpongeBob and friends. One of the highlights is thetitle episode which reworks an old comedy chestnut (two sleepers fighting over the bedclothes)into a moment of truly sublime hysteria. There are plenty of other comic gems, and I will confessthat, over the years, SpongeBob has grown on me. Yes, I’m a fan now. I would be giving thiscollection a higher rating, but the fact that two of the episodes (“Band Geeks” and “RippedPants”) have al…eady appeared on other compilations diminishes its value.
Audio
The sound is on par with the other SpongeBob releases. The 2.0 track is crisp and clear, butthe surround elements are restricted to the music. Everything else is front-speakers only. Thereis no distortion, though.
Video
The fullscreen picture has, as expected absolutely brilliant colours and no grain at all. It isnot, however, quite as good as the other SpongeBob discs, in that there is some noticeableshimmer. This isn’t enough to spoil the viewing pleasure, but the result is still not quite what Iwas expecting.
Special Features
Minimal: cast bios for the main characters, and plenty of TV ads. The menu’s main screenis animated and scored. In the case is a coupon with a link for a SpongeBob screen saver.
Closing Thoughts
I wish all eight episodes were new to compilations, but this is pretty damn funny (and silly)material all the same.
