Mira Sorvino, hard up for a job, lands one at Santolino’s restaurant. Learning the ropes isdifficult enough (even with the help of vets Mariah Carey and Melora Walters), but the restaurantis a mob hangout, and Sorvino finds herself caught in a web of danger (don’t you hate when thathappens?). I’ll say this: it’s better than Glitter.
A mere 2.0 mix, but it is a solid one. Particularly good are the restaurant scenes, where youfeel properly surro…nded by a crowd of people. Good clear reproduction as well, on both dialogueand music.
The format is widescreen (1.78:1 from the looks of it). The blacks are good and deep, and thecontrasts and flesh tones are pretty solid too. A good, clean transfer. The opening shots lookgrainy, but they could be stock shots.
The only extras are trailers for WiseGirls, The Dead Zone (TV series) and Under HellgateBridge.
Other than the somewhat out-of-the-ordinary casting, this is otherwise very in-the-ordinary.
