EA Restores NFL Players, Lawsuits involving NCAA Games, & Microsoft spends 200 million on Facebook apps? - Welcome to the column that would be willing to trade bad jokes for virtual currency known as Dare to Play the Game.

This is the part of the show where I tell you I played all these games and then you use the scroll wheel on your mouse and get to the news or the releases because you don’t like reading my witty banter on my own life events. Well, it’s unfortunately worked because I barely played anything over this past weekend. I really didn’t play that much World of Warcraft (Priest at 72, Warlock at 31) and I didn’t even touch WWE Smackdown vs Raw. For some reason I couldn’t bring myself to work on the very last achievement so I can put away the game for a while.

Xbox DLC Going Away, Re-releasing PS games, & Natal is the next mouse? - Welcome to the column that continues to be stubborn about backwards compatibility until the Dreamcast starts playing Sega Genesis games known as Dare to Play the Game.

Another week in the world of gaming. I am now officially one achievement away from a full boat on WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010. 950 points. As it turns out, all the unlockables achievement only required me to go back through the Randy Orton scenario to unlock “Cowboy” Bob Orton & “Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase. Thank goodness I used several saves for his scenario in my first run through so I only had to hit it at key points.

The Tester, Capcom in the Green, & Dante’s Inferno at The Superbowl? - Welcome to the column that has seen hell and has the purple dinosaur marks to prove it known as Dare to Play the Game.

Welp, as many of you know I do play the World of Warcraft. I had fiddled around with my dwarf priest here and there. This past Monday, he hit level 70. He didn’t really become my main until I started playing with Sarah and I turned him shadow (or rather dual-speced him to include shadow). Now it’s nice because Sarah and myself can actually queue for Lich King dungeons together. She’s had a couple of 80’s and a 77 for a while, but I know she wanted to really play with me instead of just giving me an occasional run through of something.

Farmville Addicts, Xbox Indie Game Sales, & Mass Effect 2 will make you swap discs? - Welcome to the column that gets freaky with the geeks and wipes up afterwards known as Dare to Play the Game.

For a few months now, I have been playing WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010. Honestly, when I first got the game I didn’t think I was going to get anywhere close to 1000 achievement points. Then a funny thing happened. I kept with it. A lot longer than I kept up with 2007, mainly because the best thing about 2010 achievement points is that there are no online achievements. This means I can mess up as many times as I would like and not feel 12 waves of stupid for it.

Beatles Rock Band Sales Figures, Video Games: the 5th Network, & Video Games survive Recession? - Welcome to the column that survived the recession and shot itself in the arm to boot known as Dare to Play the Game.

Someday I’ll learn to keep playing the characters I have in World of Warcraft and not create new ones. For anybody who hasn’t tuned into this column (or read my facebook page), I have about half a dozen characters in WoW. Noteables include a level 71 Troll Rogue (Combat) and a level 65 Dwarf Priest (Shadow/Disc). The rest of the characters include 2 hunters, 1 warlock, 1 mage and 1 druid ranging from levels 13-35.

Target Says No to Minigames, Kids Taught thru Video Games, & What the heck is DLC again? - Welcome to the column that is working on world domination one red-ringed Xbox at a time (if only it were that simple) known as Dare to Play the Game.

This week, I can safely say I didn’t game all that much. I did continue to play some on the Wii and muddled around with my Xbox 360 as well. On the Wii, I actually bowled my first 200+ (210) game on Wii Sports Resort. I still wonder if that translates to any improvement in a real bowling game. The last time I really bowled I was somewhere in the 170’s. I’m guessing I’m probably in the same place.

Tiger Woods Makes a Boxer into a Golfer, Sega says no to M rated Wii titles, & The Return of NBA Jam? - Welcome to the column that was a smooth operator with Tom Gugliotta on his team known as Dare to Play the Game.

Another week with the Wii and I believe I have reached an understanding with the machine. Nintendo-made games & Virtual Console make me happy. Third party games to this point make me very sad. Puzzle Kingdoms remains one of the few games I have played and then promptly looked for the auction pile in hopes of never seeing that horrible interface for a game.

Christmas has gone by in the Kedrix household and it turned out to be a very nice holiday. For Christmas as most of you know, I gave Sarah a Wii with all the trimmings and fixings. On Christmas day, I also took the opportunity to download for her the original Super Smash Bros. For myself, I received the original Grand Theft Auto IV which I have wanted to play ever since I got my hands on the Episodes DLC disc. I also got two awesome shirts, one of TMNT and the other, a Horde Warcraft shirt that looks pretty bad ass.

All of us here at Upcomingdiscs wish you a wonderful and safe holiday season. Check back starting Christmas Day. We'll be running our 12 Days Of Christmas Contests. Each day for 12 days straight, we will post a new contest. It's your chance to win new prizes and your second chance at unclaimed prizes from 2009.

We have big plans for 2010. I hope you will continue to make Upcomingdiscs your first stop for the latest in video releases.
