I’m not going to summarize an entire season for you. But this is the season where theBuffy/Angel arc reached its conclusion, since the spin-off series was about to begin.
The sound is limited to a 2.0 mix, but it is a solid mix. As ever with TV shows, the musicheavily dominates, but there is still some sound effect presence, and the result isn’t bad atall.
The last collection was marred with some truly awful grai… in the transfer. This collectionshows a considerable improvement. No gain now. The colours are excellent, and the contrasts, even during the night scenes (of which there are, naturally, a great many) are very strong.
The menu has an animated introduction, but otherwise is simply scored. On the discsprovided for review, there are featurettes on weapons, wardrobe and FX, an interview withmonster-maker John Valich, and a brief talk from Joss Whedon about the 2-parter “GraduationDay.” The featurettes benefit from each having a specific focus. Other features are a seasonoverview, selected episode commentaries, more interviews with Whedon, other featurettes (noton the screener discs), selected scripts, and a still gallery.
Some interesting extras, but the real bonus is the improved picture quality.
