Poker viewing on television has been a phenomenon that has exploded over the last few years. This 8-disc set of The World Poker Tour – Season Two (14 episodes and one disc with bonus material) is a viewing pleasure for any poker fan who just enjoys watching it or is looking to improve their game.
Each episode includes poker instruction and player profiles for an inside look at the professional poker world. The host team of Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten are very knowledgeable and add excitement t… every match, and then of course there’s Shana Hiatt!
Audio
The Dolby Digital 2.0 audio mix is very good with the clarity of the players voices great and the theme music catchy. There is alternate audio on some of the episodes that offer you the opportunity to hear a couple of the professional’s commentary during the show.
Video
The 1.33:1 full frame transfer is very good especially when showing the various casinos and exotic scenery from around the world. The dark scenes inside of most of the casinos have good detail and color with no artifacts.
Special Features
The last disc contains bonus material including Poker instruction and extended player profiles, which are very entertaining and educational. There is also the professional’s commentary available on some of the episodes which very informative and funny.
Final Thoughts
Any poker enthusiast or fan will be able to watch these discs over and over again, they are that good. You can learn something new every time you watch them. I highly recommend this DVD set for anyone with an interest in poker.
